Hi Folks,

Recently we had a situation in which we took a phone order for about $4000 in Festool tools that turned out to be fraudulent. The woman who called had a number of Festool part numbers to purchase for a "construction team whose work truck had been burgled" allegedly. The man who picked up the tools seemed, upon further consideration, furtive and shifty. Here are some warning signs:

The caller ID was blocked.

Upon inspection the address for the "business" was real but not a business after inspection on Google maps

Trying to call the supplied phone number resulted in not in service message

Sending a receipt to the requested email worked but the reply was from a different email address and name
The same tactic was attempted again which is what raised the warning signs. This transaction occurred during our busiest time of the year so people working in retail sales are rushed and sometimes distracted. I hope this is an appropriate place to post this as I would hate for this type of fraud to effect the bottom line of Festool dealers.

Respectfully,
Joseph Crowe
