I'm getting ready to build a bunch of bi-folds for 3 closets in my house. The doors are simple 3 panel shaker style, and they'll be paint grade. I'm trying to decide between two ways to go about it, the first would be to buy 3/4 material (poplar or soft maple), and laminate it to get 1 1/2 thickness and plane it down to 1-3/8 or so. Option B would be buying 8/4 wood, resawing to 1/4 or so, and laminating it on OSB like Todd K. did in this video:

I JUST got a bandsaw so getting the resaw part of it will take some practice. Joinery will be 12-14MM Dominos, and titebond 2.

Any insights that would sway you one way or the other?

thanks for the info, I looked around my local lumber yards, nobody carries the osb treads like Todd uses in his video. all I can find is finger joined pine, which sounds even better, I'm goi g to pick one up to make a test, see how that goes .
