Hello guys
Just wondered if any were made and in the UK ?
What are (Protool) ?
cheers.

Hi
H.K132 is certainly for real. It has never been available in the U.K and no plans are in place for this to happen currently. Protool was the construction brand name and was part of TTS. The Protool range came under the Festool name some three years ago.

Don't know about Festool, but there are some readily available options...

Mafell's offering:

Probably a bit on the high side for most people's budgets!

Though Makita have a more reasonably priced offering:

I'm sure Hitachi also used to do a monster circular saw, but can't find it anywhere now. Maybe discontinued.

Thanks for the links, I have some stuff coming from FFX and Makita is good kit for site work.
I have 7 1/4 inch saw and a 1/2 inch router that I got 30 years ago when I started off as an apprentice, I don't use them all the time now but they still work ok.

When I was looking around at some of the super size portable circular saws I noticed that they were not for the UK market (typical as the yanks get all the best stuff) but as I had a closer look it struck me that they may more than our 13 amp 240 supply,  so as I came down from the disappointment the practicality took over and a lot of the rural job sites where I would use them have very poor electrical supplies.

Even bigger and badder than the 132 was the CSP 165 from Protool, which I had training on (very tentatively):

I fully understand your tentativeness. If that big saw ever blade jambed/grabbed a knot?.!!  [eek]

Did it come in a Protool Systainer?

I think I'd rather crap in my hands and clap than use that!

At 2:37 a woman shows how to do it...=2m37s

No safety glasses and no steel toed jandels...

Really not impressed where a woman is used as an alternative to a trained monkey ...

Whilst wearing open toe shoes, in a dusty/slippery environment, cutting a beam that weighs god knows how many KG with a 20KG saw...

They do have monkeys in Russia.

I wonder if there has been any bad accidents with these monster saws ?
It looks like you would have to stop a cut like that with the blade half into the timber then let the blade stop before removing it.
