Not enough tea in china to get me out on Friday!  Now if I can do it online ok. My wife leaves the house at around 4:30 AM on that friday to go shopping.  Nuts! I love her, but that nuts!

Nick,

Powermatic/ Jet is offering 15% off on all their power tools through all retail outlets from Friday through Monday the 30th.  For example, you can get a Powermatic 14" bandsaw for about $850 including the riser block and residential delivery.  That would pay for the mobility kit, which, by the way, is also 15% off.

This deal might also include Wilton but I am not sure.

In the words of Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble, "CHARGE"!!!

Rockler has 25% off of any one item (excludes power tools and sale items)....could be a good discount for that highly figured piece of hardwood.

The last time that Rockler offered a discount coupon, I scored a really nice piece of purple-heart.

Rey,

Do you need a coupon? Can you find anything documenting this? I only ask because Rockler is a couple of hours away from where I'm at.

There have been posts elsewhere on the web about people seeing ads for Rockler online and then going to their closest store and finding out that the prices were greater.  This is not uncommon with internet and brick and mortar operations.  Throw in the fact that the local store may be a franchise and you can have a the potential for misunderstandings and disappointment.

In the old days I would call the store and ask for the manager.  I would get his name and write it down.  I would ask about specials for Friday and tell him that I will be driving several hours to shop in his store because my uncle just gave me a generous check to buy woodworking equipment for my Christmas present and suggested I call them because he had a great experience shopping at their store in the past.

Even today I would probably do that.  Try it.  It will work.

Yep, the coupon is in their flyer that was emailed today

Rey,

I can't enlarge that and read it.  Does it say that it is good in stores and on line or have any limitations?

Thanks for your help.

I modified the picture to full size instead of thumbnail. Can you see it now.

The print says 'valid in retail stores only.

I'm lucky enough to be about 20 minutes away from a Rockler store. I know all the guys by name...I am there so often  [laughing]

Thanks Rey.

I don't have one around here.  Just wanted to help out a fellow Fogger.

I have some beautiful purpleheart too.  14" wide 8 ' long.  5 Boards.  Saving it for something.  Don't know what.

A member sent me a message and suggested that I point out that there are two different types of Rockler stores.

Rockler Retail Stores

Rockler Independent Stores

If you have access to the coupon that Rey posted in this thread, and are planning to try and use it on Black Friday, call the Rockler Store you plan on going to, and ask them if they will honor the coupon before setting off on your shopping trip.

Good luck.

Peter

Peter,

About a year & a half ago Rockler was running a sale on-line for a Speed Cope jig.  I called my local store and they said that it was not their price but if I brought a copy of the ad in they would honor it.  I printed it out, brought it in, and they honored it (albeit reluctantly).

As you said, it is always good to call first.  Not all franchisees work the same.

Home Depot has a pretty decent deal on the Milwaukee 6955-20 12-Inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw: $549 with a free Ridgid Stand ($179).

I'm tempted to go for it. Just in case, I grabbed their coupon, which expires on December 31st.

Woodcraft is still honoring their $10 off a $20 purchase (pre-tax) with code 12249.  They also have free shipping right now.

Works out well on small/medium size purchases of single items.  The discount can be applied to Clearance/sale items.
Technically it's one use per customer, but they don't seem to care about re-using shipping address, as long as the email address is different... and wife and kids are, technically, separate customers.  YMMV

Best bets discussed on some other forums:
Bessey 10pc clamp set, $19.99 shipped
HTC Clamp rack:  $49.99 shipped
Pinnacle measuring/clamping tools

Thanks for the tip Woodjunkie.  I bought a nice set of Wera screwdrivers using your code.

Nice call on the Wera screwdrivers... I needed new ones so $25 for a set of 6 good ones is a steal!

I ended up using the Woodcraft discount to get some Blum-motion drawer slides. Those puppys are expensive enough, so every little bit helps.
