I have Goggled to no avail for a NA vendor who sells  black metric bolts in small quantities.

For some furniture projects, I need in  black with nuts and washers
M8 X 120 mm
M6 X 60 mm
M6 X 50 mm

I have found some in red rinse but they look really odd. Yes I could use Imperial 3 inch, 2.5 inch and 2 inch but this is for some Rietveld chairs and I want bragging rights to following Rietveld original metric plans.

These black locking bolts and nuts are normally available in Holland in various diameters and lengths.
Rietveld was a also Dutchman. I also own several building plans for Rietveld furniture and they specify the locking bolts.
Maybe you can also use regular zinc bolts and paint them together with the wood of the chair.
If you wish I can put a few of the black ones in an enveloppe and send it to you.

You don't specify the head style but those wide head carriage bolts neeleman pictured look ideal.

Another bit of info, you can sometimes get black oxide coated stainless steel fasteners.

5/16" = .3125" = 7,938 mm  less than 1/10th of a mm difference.

1/4" = .25' = 6,35 mm    bigger difference but still less than 1/64"

You are right that I did not specify the round headed carriage (coach) bolts. That has been the problem. The ones I need are shown in Neeleman's photo. Thanks. I may just stay with Imperial with black oxide.

Another solution is to find carriage head bolts in 300 series stainless and have them black oxide coated. It's an inexpensive process and will not rust like plain steel will when hot black oxide coated.

Thanks everyone. With some coaching and more accurate bolt vocabulary,  I was able to locate a company in the UK with reasonable shipping to the Western  US. I have enquired if they subject VAT as Administer does.

So if you want metric black stainless steel bolts, full thread, with round heads plus the requisite nuts and washers, the source is
https://www.accu.co.uk/en/ Minimum quantities center around 20-25 units. They have a very easily navigated website.

Thanks again.

I confirmed VAT is adjusted at time of ordering:

Good morning,
