I seen an earlier thread, but for what it's worth, I've had good luck with Burns Tools Sharpening.  Good service, nice turn-around, etc.  I go through a lot of 55 blades on the job, and I've been happy to be able to get some extra life from them.

Dan is Burns Tools Sharpening located in the States? How about some contact and price info on them.

I go to the local sharpener "Hans". He has served me well although I know if he promises to have it done on Wednesday it will be done the following Monday  ;)

His company is called Burnaby Saw. I don't know if he does mail order though. He charges $16 to $18 depending on how many teeth the blade has.

Cheers

Sorry, still learning protocol.  It's Burnstools.com.. $17.50 sharpening per blade,(for a  55) a bit more for my 12" saws. $4.50 to replace carbide tips. I generally ship (4) blades for about $8.00 each way from Chicago to MA.  I go through about (1) 55 blade a week or two.  I trim a lot of cabinet stiles and manage to hit a staple or two everytime.  With most of the cabinets I install being painted, I need really sharp blades to avoid chips and burns.(no pun intended).  I've had good luck. I keep an arsenal of about (12) blades, so I'm never short.

dan,
I'm a Chicago guy too.  I use Bull Sharpening on Roosevelt.  They do a good job on my 55 blades.  Give them a try and save yourself the shipping.

Justin,

Thanks, I'll give them a shot.  I'm based in Wheaton, but sometimes work in Oak Park.
