I want to get some blades for my TS55 and soon to be arriving Kapex that I can use for cutting MDF and framing lumber, so I can preserve the edge of the better blades when I move on to trim work.

There's a lot of scattered discussions on the FOG regarding this issue, but I just wanted to repose the question and see what people are using.

I was thinking for the Kapex that I could use the stock 60T blade for framing timber and MDF, and then get a Tenyru or Forrest for the fine trim work (Never used a Tenyru, but I love the performance of my Forrest blades on my TS and current CMS).  Or I could get an Oshlun blade for the rough stuff.

For the TS55, it seems more clear that I should go with the Oshlun for the rough stuff, and then use the Festool blade for the finer stuff.  But are there other options besides Oshlun for blade-eating/sticky materials like MDF and fir/spruce?

I use industrial Amana and AGE blades that I mostly buy through Toolstoday.com.

The Tenryu pro miter blade for the Kapex is awesome!! I would recommend it for fine trim work. Smooth and almost a silent cut.
