I don't see any BT batteries for the cordless sanders. This seems like a group of tools where you would do a lot of START/STOP activity and BT communication between the tool and the extractor would be an advantage.

Are there Bluetooth batteries for the cordless sanders and if not when will there be some if ever?

If this is a wish-list thread for BT features, add me to the list. I was very disappointed when I bought my sander to discover that the batteries weren't BT enabled. It seems like a bit of a glaring omission for the battery sander to be unable to start the vac.

I do see that if you drill way down into accessories and on to the details of the battery that it says the battery is BT capable. But there is no mention of that on the kit page.

Why wouldn't you be pushing that feature, it's a big sales magnet, at least it is for me if I were in the market for a sander. I already have three Festool sanders so covered for the near future. But my next one will be a FT cordless sander, most likely the DTSC 400.

Just look at the photo. Bluetooth symbol right there on the side of the battery.

You mean this? That tiny symbol is supposed to tell me that those
are bluetooth batteries with no accompanying copy required.

Hah, I just noticed: If you look at the battery option on the BASIC model, it says nothing about Bluetooth, however if you look at the SET and PLUS versions, they describe the batteries with Bluetooth.. The “I” in the description on both single battery and set versions is the one with Bluetooth. I checked the same on one of the European homepages, and it’s the same here.

I haven’t noticed it before, as I’m interested in this sander myself, and have only looked at SET and PLUS versions, and they have all been equipped with the “I” / Bluetooth batteries.

Sorry you had to go out of your way to find the smallest possible picture of a battery to prove your point. I would have thought you’d refer to the link conveniently located in the post right above your first post.

Just a reminder that the first SET & PLUS offerings were issued with non-Bluetooth batteries so make sure you order the correct current part numbers.  This is especially the case if you order from Festool Recon...check the part numbers.

Thanks Cheese. And yes, that comes to mind more and more when it comes to tools. I see other manufacturers also sometimes sell what seems to be identical tools, and is barely discovered by different part no’s - until you really start to study specs and sometimes pictures. Makita have had some of this with their drills - and man! What’s the difference? [eek]
