I recently purchased the CTC MIDI cordless dust extracter, Kapex KSC 60 cordless miter saw and CSC SYS cordless table saw. I have not been able to get both the Kapex and the CSC to work at the same time with bluetooth function in sync with the CTC MIDI.
After doing some research (and some unsuccessful efforts on my part) is seems that Festool Bluetooth batteries only allow one battery to be connected to 1 bluetooth dust extractor at a time. Only being able to connect one battery at a time to the dust extractor is a MAJOR design flaw. It is extremely inefficient having to switch the battery from one tool to the next. The system should have been designed to allow several batteries to be connected to bluetooth at one time (the same way as the bluetooth remote control button, which can control 5 tools at a time). Having to go over to the dust extractor to reset the bluetooth pairing (if not switching the battery from one tool to the next) or switching the battery to the next tool is just as annoying as having to manually turn the vacuum on and off at the switch.
At this point my thought is to purchase another dedicated bluetooth remote to manually turn on and off the table saw. And then just keep the miter saw battery connected to the bluetooth. Of course this now means I have to remember to manually turn of and on the table saw with the bluetooth buttom, which defeats the entire purpose I had of having bluetooth tools in the first place.
One other gripe, although not nearly as major, but still annoying. The CTC Midi battery compartment will not open if you have any sustainers on the top. So in order to open the top to change out the batteries (which you will be doing after every 15 minutes of vacuum use) you will have to remove any sustainers on the top to do so. This is another design flaw IMO. In order to get around this I just removed the battery lid all together, which works fine. No sustainers to remove and no lid to open. Quick and efficient.
If anyone knows a workaround on the bluetooth connectivity please enlighten me. Currently disappointed with my new $4000 setup.
