BLUETOOTH Remote- suction change

I wish they update the bluetooth remote for the vacuums that has a suction speed adjust besides turning on/off.  Whenever I use my sander I have to use a lower speed to prevent swirl marks. Then when I want to vacuum off the surface I have to manually adjust the suction power which defeats the entire purpose of the remote. It should be an easy fix I believe I mean we do have remotes for electronix that adjust volume/speed/etc why not the vacuum suction.

That could be a useful feature. Even if it was that you set the reduced suction on the CT manually then when controlling from the BT remote you cycled through from OFF to FULL to VARIABLE, so click once to turn ON at full power, then again for reduced power, then a third time to turn OFF.

I'd advocate for a "press-and-hold" to change suction levels, personally.  If you want to turn off the vac for whatever reason, especially in an emergency, you want it to just turn off, not have to cycle through another setting first.

I don't know how that affects the BT functionality with the batteries, though; do they send a pulse when engaged and another pulse when disengaged, or do they send a constant signal (if I had to guess, it would be a pulse).

That said, I wonder if the reason the functionality doesn't currently exist is because the majority of the installed base of BT remotes is in the larger (CT-26 through CT-48) collectors that still have dials for speed adjustment.  Maybe the new remote functionality will come with the first CT-26, 36, or 48 that comes with Bluetooth built in.

Unfortunately, I don't know if there's a port on the CT MINI-I/MIDI-I to flash the firmware on the BT module, so it might not be retroactively available.

I'll might be the only voice of dissent, but that would be a feature that added cost without value to me.  I haven't yet been in a situation where that extra second required to change the suction level has been a problem.

If it could automagically adjust itself when using a sander vs any other tool it'd save me from checking the hose & tool to see if there's a blockage... before facepalming myself for forgetting I'd turned the suction down.

[member=74462]Wood_Slice[/member] this is the best suggestion I have heard in a while.  Hope Festool is following this thread.
