Has anyone installed Blum's Servo Drive system?  I'm looking into using it on a handful of drawers on an upcoming project and I'm wondering if they only work with Tandembox or if they can be used on any type of drawer.

Russell,

I think that ccmviking has installed them and has also done displays for trade shows using them.

I installed the Servo drive unit about 2 years ago.  It should work with both the undermount slides and the tandembox draw system.  It worked well.  We put it on a hidden draw in a closet.

Very impressive system. There are tons of utubes about these. Really is cool.

Looks like you have to build a precise sized space behind the drawer, how much do you do you need at the back?

What kind of cost?

Cheers,
Steve

Bill, you don't have to use tandembox, do you?  I would need to use the system with some solid stock drawers.

No.  I think we used the 568 slides on a regular old 5/8" thick maple draw box.  The only thing the servo drive does is add an electric arm that pushes the draw out of the cabinet.  If I recall you have to push the draw in approx. 2 mm to activate it and then the electric arm pushes the draw the rest of the way out.

I haven't looked at the Blum information in quite a while, but how is the power supplied to the units. Don't you have to have power behind each cabinet that has at least one unit in it?

You need a plug for the unit to run, but you can wire units from a few cabinets to one outlet.
