Boom Arm fit & finish

I finally got my boom arm assembled,and unlike some posters, I did have the documentation. My challenge was that the extension would not fit into the movable arm by what appeared to be the thickness of the paint. I could see no other alternative but to sand the paint off the extension tube to make it fit. It worked, but with all this talk about Festool quality, I don't think this drastic adjustment should be necessary.

  Jack you are right, it should not be necessary. In fact is not, you should have returned it and gotten a new one or a replacement part. I understand the want for the tools to be right out of the box and for the most part they are when dealing with Festool. Festool will make a problem right but only if you bring it to their attention.
