Quick question, can the Boom Arm be attached to a CT that has the WCR-1000 Workcenter mounted on it?

Yes,

You just need to remove (or not attach) one of the sets of hooks from the ends.

I have that setup in my shop right now, works great!!

Excellent, thanks Ken! Any chance you could post a pic?

For some reason I can't post a picture.

Either i'll get it to work, or you'll see the same post 10 times in a minute here.

Thanks for reposting!!

Don't mind the mess in my shop

Sure thing. I was always under the impression it was one or the other, boom OR work center, good to see it can be done with both!

Anyone know if there is enough room for an Ultimate Dust Deputy when using the workcenter, too?

Just in case someone is wondering...

In the picture, the work center is at almost full height and there is still room to raise it further.  The boom arm does not hamper that function either.

Looks like it might work then.  May have to use an elbow for the hose on top of the cyclone, but otherwise, I think an Ultimate Dusty Deputy might squeeze in.

The Dust Deputy is 30.5 inches tall to the top of the cyclone inlet, that does not include any hose or fitting that you might add. My WorkCenter is at work, so I cant measure that for you right this minute...

On the Festool website it says the Work Center adjusts to a max height of 30 29/32"http://www.festoolusa.com/power-too...-storage/wcr-1000-workcenter-organizer-497471 I don't know if this is underneath the pegboard or its absolute highest point.

It would appear by the pics above, that the top of the cyclone would have to be modified most likely. If you cut down the height of the place where the hose attaches, would that effect how the cyclone works? If not, maybe cutting it down to allow a 90deg elbow to be attached  to the top lid surface likely would do the trick.

I'm interested in this also. Would love to see pics of the height of the Work Center adjusted up to max.

Now to go do some more reading on the updated, all black, Ultimate Dust Deputy. Are the kinks worked out if it that it will not fry my CT 36?

Thanks for taking the time to measure for me.  Looks like the ultimate dust deputy is just too tall for the workcenter. Oh well.  I don't need it anyway.

In the UDD manual it says the overall night is 30.5" bottom to top of hose inlet on lid(hose not attached).http://www.oneida-air.com/pdf/ultimate-dust-deputy-owners-manual-2014-web.pdf If the height of the WC is 30 29/32" at the bottom of the pegboard it may just work. Of course you will have to modify the hose attachment on the lid of the UDD to accept a 90 deg elbow and reduce some of the stack height while you are at it.

Of corse if the 30 29/32" is at the top of the pegboard when fully extended, then we are all SOL.

Maybe Oneida will do another rework. UDD version 4 anyone?

Tooltown, or anyone else for that matter, could you measure the distance of the inside of the Work Center when it is raised to full height? Base where a Systainer/UDD would sit to the lower portion of the pegboard. Trying to determine if a UDD would fit inside a Work Center and what type of modifications may need to be done to make it work. Thanks in advance.

You could gain a couple of inches by just cutting a hole or square notch in the middle of the bottom edge of the peg board to make room for the hose or elbow.  However, even that would not be enough if the Festool measurement is at the top of the pegboard.

It would probably work fine if the cyclone was offset to one side of the box.

If I were to get the combo, I wouldn't be too eager to cut the pegboard. I'm hoping there is enough room if an elbow was placed on top of the UDD. Maybe the top portion (chimney) on the UDD would have to be cut down in height some. That is why I was hoping to get confirmation with an actual measurement from someone who owns the Work Center.

Another option might be to make extensions out of wood that fit into the bottom of the aluminum vertical uprights. (Assuming the aluminum extrusion is hollow.)
