boom question - stabilizer legs

I like the looks of the boom for keeping things tidy.    The dealer sorta talked me out of it when I picked up me CT36, and instead pushed the WCS.    His reasoning was that the two boom "stabilizer" legs don't really like to roll around and makes it less portable....  when he tried pushing it around it did look awkward.

Since then I have seen some videos of CT22s with booms - and they don't have these stabilizer legs.    Is it just the newer style dust collectors?    Can the CT36 do without these awkward legs?

The boom arms for the CT22-33 series came with the rotating stabilizer legs. On my CT33, they are still installed but are never used or needed so I just raised them up as high as they would go and keep them tight to the sides of the vac. I believe they are built the same for the newer series vacs as well. If you really rotate the boom all the way left or right and tug on the hose you could tip the entire vac-boom over but I have never pulled that hard on mine. The legs to me are nothing but a pain to use if you want it mobile as you would have to rotate them every time. Also in a shop and fixed position, they stick out a long way so are still a pain. Really think they only exist to add to the overall safety.

that is what I was hoping.    After using the unit for awhile I really think the boom would be handy.  hmm.  some weight in the bottom would help...    maybe a 10# barbell weight under the bag?

I believe they are built the same for the newer series vacs as well.

It's the same boom. The handles and attachment are different.
