Bosch 12v Drill/Driver Kit

Uh oh.

Those look like the new chode grips that Henrik found on the 18v Flexiclick. There looks like a distinct lack of indentation where your thumb and forefinger would go.

I picked the drill/impact up for $129 with 2 Lboxx's, one for screws one with tools. I had the occelator with 2  batts and then bought one more Lboxx with 2 of the 2ah for it.
I love them for what it cost me!  The drill is fine used for a bunch of 3/4" holes today in subfloor, the impact is by far the most impressive compact tool I've used. Put 4" GRK's in decks etc, very powerful little thing.
They fit the hand nice, I will add some 4ah batts at some point.

I've been happy with the bosch 12V line.  Those FL12 lights are VERY nice for what they are.  I also like the flex head driver.

The 12V impact is the most used tool in the shop.  I love the thing and rarely have the need for more power (on site I use the 18V line) but in the shop it shines.  There are brushless version out and should make there way here.  I assume that the reason for some of the price drops we are seeing on the older models.

The drill is OK, works much better with the 4ah batteries.

Radio is OK, but not like the bigger bosch power box (which is one of the best jobsite radios IMO) even though it lacks bluetooth.

Thanks for the heads up on the FL12, I just ordered one.

I have a couple of the 12v drills and impacts.  Also have the FL12 and the little vac. I really like the drill and impact. Compact, plenty of power, and affordable. The led is awesome!

I also have their 12v jigsaw. That little guy is great for smaller cuts. It won't leave a perfect square cut in hardwood, but for smaller tasks it is very comfortable to use.

Bosch has as 12v brushless impact driver and drill/driver here in the US right now but that's all the brushless so far.

There's no brushless impact driver available in 10.8/12v, on either side of the pond.
The brushless impact will be out this year across the pond.

$100 Driver
$100 90*
$100 Drill

or

$300 CXS.... that's nicer to use, has some extra features comes in Systainer...

It was a no brainer to me!

If you received a quote of $300 for 3 bare bone Bosch 12v tools then you were being cheated.  For $300 you can get Lboxxes, lights, spare batteries, a drill, an impactor, and a 90 drill/driver.  And "nicer to use" is arguable.  I'd rather have a drill and driver working in tandem than having to swap heads as I go from drilling pilot holes to driving screws.

Thanks. I've been in the market for a radio for months now and just haven't found anything overwhelmingly great. Not saying this radio is a game changer but it's 50% off here which is nice.

Anyone else have experience with these?
Sorry to briefly hijack the thread but does anyone else wish Festool made a radio?! Something small and would allow you to charge your batteries too?

Yeah you can get much better deals at or under $300 with the Bosch 12v line.

And the CXS is an awesome drill. I've owned it and only recently sold it to grab the OF 1010. This thread was really meant to see if a particular kit was a good deal and if the Bosch 12v line was worth buying into. For half the price of the CXS I could get what seems to be a very competent Bosch kit.

CXS comes with spare battery. I don't really care about the radio.

The Bosch I'm sure are ok, but I wasn't into the balance and what not.

Switching chucks works for me often because if I'm mobile it means I can be doing it easily on a ladder etc, and in the shop I use a higher speed 18v drill for actual drilling.

To bad in the USA they aren't selling Milwaukee's interchangable 12v chuck system. That would be a nice deal! But as far as Bosch goes it seems like Black Friday is when screaming deals come up.

I've got
the 1-gear driver, with hex chuck (blue canvas lunch bag)
the 2-gear drill, with proper keyless chuck (blue canvas lunch bag)
the impact  (Just a belt holster) and
the cordless multitool (L-box)

and I love 'em to bits - with one reservation.

The multitool DESTROYS the origonal 1.3AH batteries. Utterly.

The later 2AH ()? are fine, as are the clones. and the originals are fine in all the other tools. Vibration and crap internal connections, fwiw.

I've used the tiny Festool, briefly, and it IS better but n the real (my) world, I'm perfectly happy with the Bosch. Very compact, plenty of power, 20 min charging and lightweight. Would buy again.

Just a very small point. The one thing I like with the new CXS over the little Bosch drills, is that the new 2.6 batteries make it very stable when you put it down. I like this when fiiting kitchens. The fact that the little bosch's can't stand up with the small batteries was a bit annoying at times.
But I've also noticed, I'm not sure if anyone else has also noticed this. That the new CXS and Bosch both have quite a bit of chuck wobble, more so than my old Milwaukee M12 drill.

I've had the 12v Bosch stuff since it came out....think I'm up to 3 drivers, 2 impacts, the drill, recip. saw, I-driver and I just added the FL12 light.

They've all been excellent tools, no complaints, all my batteries still work....

As for the FL12 light, that thing is awesome, Bosch hit a home run with that one.

I'll be picking up the drill/driver kit with the L-Boxx and radio today and put it right to work (alongside my T18) on some raised flower beds. I'm looking forward to getting into a new q2v line. I've always loved Milwaukee but their drills aren't as compact as the Bosch 12v. Just sucks I can't buy Bosch at my own store. I also ordered one of the FL12 lights and can't wait for it.

Stan

That radio is on clearance at Lowes for $49, so if you don't need the l box you could grab the drill/driver and impact set for $149 and add the radio for 49 more.

Looks like Ft Smith has stock.

I thought about that but I don't really need an impact these days. There isn't really anything I do thag the T18 can't drive comfortably. I'm sure I'll end up grabbing an impact driver again in the future but when that time comes it's definitely gunna be brushless.

Btw How'd you know I'm in Ft. Smith?

I think that's a good start and i am sure you will enjoy it.  There are also 4ah bats available and I really like it on my impact as it lets it stand on it's own and the run time and power is GREAT

you can see it here.
