bosch jobsite table saw

I have the larger Bosch and really like it considering the options.  Although in the smaller sizes most guys like the older Makita's.  Either way you might want one of the Rousseau stands.

Have been using the "yellow" option. dewalt 745 for a couple yrs now. It has never let me down.
If I had to get another I might try the Bosch out but, for what it is, the Dewalt is a well built/performing machine.

I got one of the Bosch units with the gravity stand (4100-09?) and it has been for the past 4-5 years a good and faithful performer. Built a zero clearance insert from MDF and the cuts are very nice and true. Only complaint is that in my model, the thing that holds the fence is only good when the saw is upright, not for travel.

mine is good when traveling. i wonder if your plastic is bent, worn, or cracked somewhere.

I just bought my second Bosch table saw. Previously had the 4000 for about ten years, it was pre gravity rise stand. Solid job site saw, capable of rough framing and fine trim work. I even made a router insert to fit in the table extension. Ten years of rough jobsite use and still going strong. I considered replacing it with the new smaller model and did a lot of shopping around. In the end i replaced it with the 4100 version with the gravity rise stand and upgraded riving knife. Bosch took a great saw and made it even better.

The fence on the small Bosch saw had too much play for my liking. It can be adjusted to lock more firmly but loosened up each time the fence was moved. I dont have any yellow tools or am a fan but if i was going to get a compact saw i would get the Dewalt over the Bosch. The Dewalt fence is a rack and pinion design and rock solid. After comparing the two several times the Dewalt seemed like a better performer and value.

My older 4000 model has a useless place to store the fence. The first half dozen times i picked the saw up to move it the fence crashed to the floor. It really mad me mad every time i did it. I promised myself i would never again move the saw without the fence locked on the table.

That's the one I got... I, too, promised the same thing, but alas, I keep forgetting.
