Bought a used Of 1400, is everything included in the box(picture)?

Got it in the mail yesterday. Seller said it was used one time, but i find that hard to believe. But it looks good.
Is it missing a dust “cap”(se last picture)? It’s a ebq plus. Maybe it wasn’t always included?
Seller said he believed i was 4 years old, but on the router it says 2014. That’s 11 years so quite the difference. Does that matter?

If it’s missing, what should i do? I have 4 hours to accept the deal(24 hours from when i got it.) We are using service that i safe for the buyer and the seller. He gets the money when i “okey” the deal. If i have a complaint, i have 24 hours to make it.

The red steel thing, and the the steel piece beside it was in the box? Any ideas what it is?

Is the festool router bits(10 in a round box) a good set to start with? Any recommendations?

The red bar isn't part of the set, no idea what that's there for. The small bit of metal looks like it's a sliding connector for one of the Festool attachments, keep it anyway as it'll probably prove handy at some point.

The Plastic shroud circled in blue should come with the router and is for using with the fence. To be honest I rarely use the fence, and I don't think I've ever used my shroud.

The shroud that's in the case that clips in is great, and you're likely to use it a lot. It pretty much captures all the dust.

Definitely not "used once", but looks in great condition and I wouldn't really be too concerned about it's age, I guess whether it's worth though it depends on how much you're saving?

The red thing is not part of the kit. The oblong small piece next to it looks to be the feather key from the MFT/3 table used to locate the rail hinge or front rail locator. Looking at the baseplate scratches I would venture a guess that it was used more than once based on the scratches on the baseplate. What will make this hard to determine if you have otherwise completeness is the fact that Festool has altered the scope of delivery over the years. Things that were affected in delivery iover the years include number of collets (originally three now two), the bushing adaptor (I don't see that but in ing 0459 it is next to the circled part) and I believe also the that circled part which is the dust collector for the parallel guide. 2014 vs 4 years? Possible due to the fact that tools for the US "interrupt" the normal production lines due to electrical requirements and thus are made in large batches and stored for distribution and also some dealers are low volume. You might want to take everything out, organize and take a picture so that we can see better. I see someone else just posted so...

@peter halle 3 collets? Not bad! Here in OZ we've only ever got the 1/2" and 1/4" collets with Festool. From the pic it looks like the bushing adaptor is there in it's place.

That was one of the oddities. We got the 8mm (not popular) and other places where they were more popular they didn't. Never made real sense to me but I have a 2010ish version so I am set.

People's recollection of timelines can be a little... hazy...

Typically when I'm considering a used tool, I ask for a photo of the manufacturers plate so I can learn the manufacturing date and work from there. And the older the manufacture, the more I'm expecting off the price - especially when they say "used once" (and they all seem to say that).

But, the manufacture date may not tell all. If you were to look at the PS 300 I recently bought, it was made in 2012. However, I bought it new from a dealer this year and it has the three year warranty - which I find to be valuable when considering purchasing a used tool.

The kit you have looks relatively complete - especially considering Cheese's references. If you're happy with it and the price, I say enjoy it.

I have seen "1 year old" tools offered that were in Systainer Classic >10 years old...

From 4 to 11 is a bit of a stretch, but I have personally bought at least a couple of tools that were 3 years old, yet still "brand new" from a dealer. The RAS115 was one of them, which was also discontinued later that year. Probably related?
On the other hand, I have also purchased at least one that was only 2 months old. (OF1010 REQ)

Either way, if the machine itself is in good physical condition, it should be a safe buy, assuming the price was acceptable.
The phenolic sub-base is a bit worn, but as suggested by Coen, used on a rough surface. The way that all of the scratches are aligned perfectly, I would guess that was done at one time, not necessarily "used once". It could have been used on smooth surfaces, during other times. It could also be that the person used it exclusively with either the edge guide or on a guide rail. (though that doesn't seem likely, since the parts are not there)
Part of the advantage of the Festool brand, is the fact that the tools are designed to be repaired. The parts are available, and the service center will repair them. They are not obsoleted when the next batch is manufactured, which often happens with the cheap brands.
