Hi All,  I've tried to find the often mentioned felders owners group but cannot.

Last week I picked up a brand new felder ad741 single phase machine.  Since day one it has made a terrible high pitch squeal that gets worse the longer it runs.  They have sent techs out but they just checked settings and put belt dressing on.  Problem is still there.  I think its coming from the motor and when checked with a heat gun the motor is getting up to 150 degrees F after 20ish minutes of use.  Can any of you check your machines and see if the motors get that hot?  None of my other motors (slider, shaper, widebelt sander) get anywhere near that hot.  I'll attempt to upload some video, thanks in advance for the help.  I really like the machine but can't stand this squeal.

I have a brand new AD951 3 phase 410V. I dont have that issue... try upload your video to Youtube.

i'd like to give them another shot to make it right before I post public videos.  If I don't hear anything by end of the week i'll put them on youtube.

I'm just surprised at the heat on the motor, wondering if that's normal.

dont know what else we can do if Felder has sent out a tech and all they did was belt dressing....

The only possibility I can think of is perhaps the belt is too tight?

Are you taking a lot off? single phase motor will struggle when you want to plane 3-4mm off a wide board..
