I visited the Bridge City Tools website this morning and discovered that a sale is coming.  I have used sales like this in the past to purchase some of my tools and thought I would pass on this opportunity to others.

For those not familiar with Bridge City Tool products, they don't have power cords, they are uber high quality, and are priced accordingly.  Except for the lack of power cords they sound like Festools don't they?

I picked up the 6 inch and 12 inch bench rules (BR-6 and BR-12) and the JS-7 Japanese saw in a previous sale and the prices in the upcoming sale are even better than what I paid - especially the JS-7 (regularly $139.95 sale $29.00).

So, as John E. suggested in his blog, I have passed on the information.  I have no affiliation with Bridge City Tools.

If you are interested, go to the blog linked above, and good luck.

Peter

The link I posted will take you to John's blog where you can see what is being offered.  You can then look thru their other pages to see a description.

I got an email about 30 minutes ago that said that the sale will be posted on their Clearance Page of their website starting at exactly 5:00 PM Pacific Time on the 9th.

Like I said, good luck!

Peter

I can't get their web page to pull up.  I expect it's overloaded.  ???

Actually, it's there, just REALLY slow.  (3 minutes after the above comment.)

Like I said - good luck.  [big grin] [big grin]

Well it took awhile but I picked up three Japanese saws and a replacement blade.  Thanks Peter for the heads up yesterday!

Thanks Peter,

I think I might just order (or not) the HP -8 Stainless Steel block plane kit for only my next months Social Security check [eek]  Actually I think I can just send all of my Social Security checks to Bridge Tools and have them send me one of their fantastic tools every year or so [wink]

Great tools sure do have a eye opening price.

Jack

Hey,  they are high end tools.  I warned you.  But for those who never have had one, when you get them you will understand better.  Festool still rocks better in my book - they have power cords and make all sorts or sounds  [big grin].

I remember early in my interest / career actually buying one of their catalogs in a Walden's Bookstore and admiring and wishing one day.  I waited 25 years.

Have fun with your stuff, but GREEN RULES!

Thanks for the tip.  Got a nice Japanese saw at a great price.

I think you got my saws... the site is bogged down and even items shown as "available" are not. Oh well, not a very dignified way to clear out inventory but it is effective.

I have to say the saws sold out very fast, I thought I jumped in at the beginning as to the start time but, well they were sold out. Did get the six inch and twelve inch rules though  [big grin]

Peter,

Thanks for the notice about the sale!

I was lucky enough to snag the 6 inch and 12 inch bench rules (BR-6 and BR-12) along with the JS-7 Japanese tenon saw.

These are my first tools from Bridge City!

Sorry about that.
I had my iPhone clock set for 7:55 EST, and selected the saw at exactly 8:00.

Mine was set for 8:00, but I was in the shop finishing a cigar. Gotta get my priorities straight... [doh]

Enjoy the saws!

Hey,

If this becomes another tool addiction, don't blame me.  I just was surfing and I love quality tools.  My budget just won't let me acquire them all.

The Bridge City website was overloaded and they posted that they had never seen such traffic.  I did not add to that traffic.  [blink]

Knowing how the Fogger Nation loves precision and accuracy - hence Festool - my guess is that some of the overload was due to members here.

Have fun!

Peter

I was in for a bunch of little parts until I found out what they were quoting for shipping.  What should have all fit in a shoebox or less was coming to be about $70 by cheapest method.

I grabbed a couple 6" and 12" bench rules to give as gifts.  Should have grabbed more; they are really nice easy-to-read rules.  Most of the infill knobs and DIY-infill knobs disappeared right at opening.  I hoped to get a DIY set to try filling with stone.
