I don't know if they come out with new tools every year, but Sauer & Steiner in Canada offers limited production tools.

Same thing with Philip Marcou in New Zealand. Marcou makes beautiful planes. In fact, I have one on the way to me right now.

I suggest that discussions of limited edition tools be moved to another thread, and not part of this member's For Sale listing.

Opps, must have offended someone..  Being that people start new threads all the time after the same thread has been talked about a hundred times, I figured it was an okay decision to talk about Bridge City tools and companies like it under a thread like this one that has the topic "Bridge City Tool Works Hand Tools".  I can see your point.  The other point is, having a little discussion here only exposes more people to what he is selling and it actually worked so far.  When I posted this, I didn't realize it was a classified, I didn't even read it, I just seen the topic and decided to post.  After I read it, I seen he had the TS-2 for $75, I e-mailed him asking if I could buy it.  Once he responds I'll make the deal.  So, it worked out pretty well for me and the seller.

Man... Picky, Picky, Picky.. I'm going to be paranoid now thinking the message board police are out to get me.

Milbach - I sent you a PM and e-mail to your hotmail account asking about the TS-2.  Please respond when you have time.  I'm very interested.

Probably, but since the listing is nearly two years old (and everything was sold long ago) it probably won't hurt much.  ;D

Yeah, He just sent me an e-mail telling me he would of sold it to me but it was 2 years old and he sold everything.  If thats the case then we should be able to post all we want, if anything his classified is taking up memory on the server.

Most people change the subject line to include the word "sold" so people stop asking about it. Regardless if the message is 2 years old or not there's no way to know if he sold everything or not.

Joraft, we better get out of here before the message board police come and get us.

I hadn't noticed that the message was so old.

I'm far from being forum police, but thought it was worth mentioning.

It's just a good idea to keep For Sale threads very focused on the sale.

I administer several other discussion forums, and you have no idea how "hijaacking" a For Sale thread upsets the seller.

Sometimes people start reviewing the product positively or negatively.  The thread originator is simply offering something for sale, not asking for endorsements or needing to defend the offering or price.

Worse yet is when someone else chimes in and says "I'm selling one too... buy mine"...

Some forums, because of abuse of For Sale threads, have resorted to having moderators preapprove offerings (making sure there is an asking price, location, etc) and insist that all contact be by private message.

So Classified/Marketplace messages should be limited to faciliating the sale, and ancillary discussions should be moved to review sections, where they are retained if the outdated classified messages are purged.

It helps maintain the sanity of the members and the administrators.

By the way... this message should probably be spawned into a new thread

Alanz,

Thanks for your points, I fully understand you.  If I knew who the right person was to ask I would have this moved but I don't.

This is a good example of why a classified listing should be maintained by the OP.
If it is no longer valid it should be removed or at least modified to reflect it's status.
