My latest creation, for myself.
A brief/attache case in wood. It holds my 13" Mbp (or a big pile of paper), Ipad mini and some other stuff. It is made out of white oak venered mdf, white oak, leather and various brass parts.
I made a "frame" out of 15mm white oak, joined together with mitre lock joints, then i cut panels of venered mdf, that had leather glued to one side, that are rabeted in the frame.

The case is a tad heavy, i could have made the frame thinner, but would have run into problems with mounting the hinge.
But, atleast its a sturdy case, and protects my laptop with suave.

Enjoy :)

Fully loaded that must be heavy indeed. Not that you'd want to test it but how well do you think it would hold together if dropped?

I love it, but I'd be afraid to carry it for fear of it getting damaged!

That is a very, very nice looking piece - well executed.  I have often thought of building something like that but never got around to it.  Thanks for posting.
