Stumbled across this gem from a few years ago today and it struck me that some of the rest of the World might not be familiar with some of the more obscure British comedy items from the past.

I should add that I very much enjoy a few of the less mainstream comedy shows from the States - The League & It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, that kind of thing.

Any road up, here's the link.

I love it lol I've never seen that and its so true that's the funniest bit.

I was at the d&m tool show yesterday and all I could hear around me ,apart from power tools ,were eastern European accent's.

sometimes, you don't have to understand the "funny"; but you can see and appreciate the "fun"

You always come up with the best humor vids. I'm still thinking and laughing about the Hi-Fi Shop you posted last week.  [thumbs up]

I was there too - maybe you heard my bad German at the Festool stand.

Fruity swear at the end - this one makes me giggle every time I see it.

Pretty old this one, but not as old as the HiFi shop (did you recognise anyone from the HiFi shop by the way? Don't know if any of them made it big outside the UK - apart from Rowan Atkinson as Black Adder & Mr Bean) - also, the boxer in this one was one of the writers of the Mr Bean stuff.

Go off piste when you click the link and watch on YouTube - there's SO many more from all of them. So far we've had Not the Nine o'clock News,  Smith & Jones (which was spawned by not the nine o'clock news), Armstrong & Miller, Smack the Pony, Harry Enfield, Mitchell & Webb and Big Train (did you recognise a young Simon Pegg with the puns?).

If you have ever watched The IT Crowd, this is one of my favorites. They have a ton of them!

Excellent stuff. Vista!

Have you ever watched "Spaced"? You'd like that. Buy the box set or stream it from wherever. Don't suppose you can get Channel 4 on Demand over there (the UK channel 4).

Reminds me, and there's a path through this haze, but, one of the Renholm's from the IT Crowd was played by Chris Morris, who is an incredibly talented writer/actor/director who kicked off a career with the radio show "The Day Today", which then went to TV.

One of my favourite parts from the show, which was a spoof news show, was this:

One of the guys in it is Steve Coogan - he's done a few movies too, but here he's famous for the comedy creation that is Alan Partridge. Recently clever thing he's been in is called The Trip (think they made a movie version for the US market) but the two series are very clever.

One highlight for me was watching two impressionists (as they both are) doing a Michael Caine-off in a restaurant somewhere in Scotland I think. This is mostly ad-lib I believe.
