Broken Festool, 2nd project

I used the brand new Festool Domino 700 to make some restoration arch top windows in Mahogany. It worked great, I blew it off put it back in the case. I took it out today and set my plunge depth to 70. I slowly fed the tool into the material and it made a loud vibrating sound and the dowel width connector no longer works. I have less than two hour on this tool and need to know how to fix it. The project is due in 5 days. And I already cut my aprons off flush... Not like I can just do them the old fashioned way now. Is there a fix? or is it a factory repair? I bought the tool from US tool and fastener.

Not sure what part that is. So I don't know if it is an easy customer fix. Suggest you call Festool service for info. Should be under warranty including free ship both ways. Turn around is usually very fast but probably not in less than five days. How close are you to Lebanon IN ? 888-337-8600

Here is a link to the parts diagrams and numbershttps://ekat.festool.de/login2/app?...29351DB45EA618EEFB7B1BB136D42B8044FCE28E6056D

Not sure but maybe the dealer can help with a loaner? That would be entirely up to the dealers discretion.

Is it the knob on top of machine used to adjust mortise width that is jammed/won’t turn?

If so, try turning the knob while machine is running

The 700 has a lever to change the width adjustment instead of a dial like the 500, and it can (should?) be off when adjusting the 700, unlike the 500, which is more like a synchro-mesh transmission that needs to be running when you adjust it.

Yes, it was confirmed prior in another thread from a Festool rep that the width lever should only be used when the DF700 is powered off.
