Say a certain knucklehead was to drop his ct26 down a flight of stairs. And say his hose garage cracked on the way down. Surpised that nothing else broke!!! No wheels or anything was affected and the crack is more cosmetic then anything. But you know how your custy's are.  [wink]
Would this banana-brains hose garage be replaced by festool under warranty?

I only ask because I know you guys rock in the service and warranty dept. If so, GREAT. If not I will still buy your tools.

If you want to see a pic of the crack, I posted a pic of my setup under the CEROS review thread.

Thanks
Chris

PS cant wait to see what you guys come up with as far as dc brushless competition to the CEROS! I know it will be great.

As with most warranties, ours covers material defects. So, this type of situation would not be covered under warranty. If you call the service department, their number is below, you can order a new hose garage if you'd like. 496237, $39.16.

And,I am moving this to the Festool Tools section of the forum since it's really not a problem.

Thanks.

Hey Chris.
I think that you should have tried a different approach. If you had offered up the knucklehead for a public flogging with German sausage at Festool headquarters by the employees with mandatory youtube video of course, the knucklehead would have received a free replacement!

Hi Chris,  one of our CT26's took an unaccompanied trip down a flight of stairs, and the only thing that happened to it was a corner broke off of the hose garage.  The vac was fine and still runs well. It's a sturdy machine.

What a brilliant find. Who'd have thought we could just throw out tools down the stairs to pack out at night. I'm trying to calculate the labor savings for the year. Thanks for the tip.  [poke]

I think Chris and Rob should get together with some glue, they could come up with a single good hose garage.  [tongue]

Or Start a new Olympic event.

That happened because of a new employee of a contractor friend of mine.  Let's just say that he felt a bit sheepish, and has been paying a lot more attention since then to what he's doing.

My CT33 fell over in the back of my pickup with a small stack of systainers attached. Hose garage virtually destroyed as are parts of the vac. I am thinking this is something that I will never get fixed. From what little research I did on costing replacement parts, I think I will just continue to run it as is until I can afford a smaller CT which I have been wanting for a long time anyhow and retire the CT33 to 'shop use'.

Yup got mind new with a broken hose gurage about 6 months ago.  My dealer is now out of busness and never got me a replacement.  It is not major just a big crack does anyone know if any glue will hold it I just dont' want the crack to get any larger.

Just "stop" drill a hole about 1/8" in diameter at theend of the crack.  That should stop it from spreading.  This is a technique used on aluminium aircraft skin  before placing a patch over a crack.  [cool]
