Broken plastic on Kapex dust guard

I just blew out a chunk of plastic near the rubber dust boot on the guard. I was trimming a 2.5" square ash leg and the offcut hit the rear blade guard. I was a left with a paddle-shaped piece on the floor and a bunch of tiny black plastic shards. I know I should have used a backing plate of some kind -another hard lesson learned.

Anyone had to replace this piece? Easy to replace if i get the replacement part? As far as I can tell the saw works ok but the remains of the broken piece wants rol down and get in the way. I taped it in place for now.

Just looked it up on Ekat. My best guess is it is called the Extractor Connector, part# 494307. But I can't see how to order it from Ekat. Any Ekat vets to help?

You can't order from the EKAT site. You can check which part you need and then contact your favourite dealer or Festool directly to order the part.

EKAT USA site

For the Kapex choose: Sawing > sliding compound mitre saw.

I have that happen to me.
Broke clean! So i was able to glue it back using an epoxy for plastic.
It's holding up very well.

I called Festool service this morning and they took care of it. Sent me the part for free. Very easy process. My first time calling them since I've only been a Festool owner since last July. Luckily the part is easily replaceable without having to send it in for repair. I'm happy. And I will be preventing this from happening again ever. Thanks to Brice for the PM support.
