Was just in the market for a small belt sander, noticed that the bs75 is showing no longer available in the UK. Is there a new one inbound, or is this the end of the road?
the US has or has had similar thing with the ts75, but that isnt based on a 40yo machine. the BS75 is (correct me if i'm wrong) originally a holz her machine. so it may be end of the road, as i am guessing compared to a rotex, they don't sell a lot of units, and if this is the case i wouldnt be supprised.
but if they are updating it, then good for them. (please put decent DC in a belt sander festool. all the ones i have used spray it around quite nicely.) in fact i may end up getting one to replace my crappy parkside one. if they do update. [eek]
phone up nuts and bolts (powertool supplies) and ask them what their stock levels are like. they may have one in stock [scratch chin]
if you cant find one anywhere i can say that the makita BS are pritty good. built like tanks. [big grin]
Please forgive the early morning not-caffeinated-yet memory dredge, but I think this was mentioned in another thread and it turned out to be due to a shortage of hardware components; resulting in Festool prioritising what they had to go to the more popular lines and the tool would be back once the world has got it's arse in gear again.
FWIW, Bosch do a BS (in their pro blue line) based on the same original design which can also take a [not as fancy] sanding frame if that floats your boat. I can't comment on the Bosch one but I have the BS75 with the frame and it's a great tool for flattening "things" without any chance of digging holes.
