Bubbles is our daughter Tina's little white Terrier. She is a sweet dog who loves everybody.

Sunday night, February 8, 2015, someone shot her with a high-powered pellet gun and left her for dead in her back yard.  This shooting was intentional and deliberate, and the Everett, WA police department are trying to find the shooter.

Bubble needed surgery.  Ultrasound showed that her liver was damaged and the pellet had nicked her intestines.  We were afraid that she would not survive. Since our daughter lost her husband of 20 years in May of last year and has no children, loosing Bubbles would be like losing her child.  So we had to try to save her. 

The first photo shows Bubbles being held by her mom.  Below that is a photo of Bubbles immediately after surgery.  (Don't look if animal abuse bothers you.)  The good news is that Bubbles is recovering and the prognosis looks good. 

The bad news is that Bubbles lost 5 inches of intestine and spent a week in intensive care at a cost of over $13,000.  We have set up a fund to help with Bubbles' medical bills: http://www.gofundme.com/ml2nws.

That's terrible!  I pray Bubbles makes a full recovery and the person who did this gets his due punishment.

I had to get my dog x-rayed a few years ago for a possible bowel obstruction (which he did not have, thank God) and the Vet discovered an old BB surrounded by scar tissue embedded in his flank.

I have no idea who shot him, when it happened, or why.

That's horrible.  It amazes me that people think it's OK to use an animal for target practice. I believe that one our most important responsibilities is protecting the little ones.

I hope there is a special place in heck reserved for people like that. Being the owner of two rescued German Shepherds - one of whom came to us with a broken leg from being mishandled - I can truly appreciate the pain you are feeling for an innocent animal.

First, thank you very much for your donation.  The amount is not important.  The person and thought behind it is very important to me.  Many thanks.

I agree 1000% about the person who did this.  The sad part is that this person has no morals and will probably do it again.  The Everett police are actively looking for him.  (Yes, I'm livid.)

I love dogs (and cats too).  Below is a pic of Sammy and Lucy.  Unfortunately Sammy passed over the Rainbow Bridge last summer at the age of 17.  Losing Bubbles because of some scum was NOT an option.

Bubbles is doing better and taking about 10 drugs a day.  She is SO happy to be at home.  She still can't run with Biddie (Tina's other dog) and she sleeps a lot, but she came to the door with her little tail wagging when Marianne and I stopped by Tina's house last night.

Thanks for the thought.  And I agree with you.  It makes me sad when I hear things like what happened to Wow's German Shepard.  It makes you wonder how people can live with themselves.

Dan, I'm sorry to hear this and I hope the catch the person who did this. Donation sent and give the girl a scratch on the chin for me. My Mini Schnauzer is all I have left from my "past" and I'd do anything for my best friend. God bless!

Our little ones remind us of the best side of life - they provide us with unconditional love and want little in return.  The last time I visited Tina, Bubbles met me at the door wagging her tail to say hi.  I scratched her head and rubbed her ears, and got some hand licks in return.  Then she walked back to her bed and went to sleep.  We both got what we needed.

You have to wonder about the kind of people who do things like this. It's scary that they walk among us every day.

Many thanks for your donation.  And I agree with you completely about the shooter.  It is very scary to have a nut-ball like this roaming around our daughter's neighborhood.  Yesterday, I completed installation of a 4-camera video security system at my her house.  I'm considering one for our house too.  Nothing is perfect, but it might help.

Other than her hair needing to grow back in, Bubbles is almost completely healed.    I posted a couple of new pics on the GoFundMe site: http://www.gofundme.com/ml2nws.  The first pic shows Bubbles giving Bidding a good ear-lickin'!  :)  Now she is running around the yard with Biddie.  Maybe not a fast as she used to, but she's getting there.

Next to my Festool, the only other non human I love is my dog. If the same happened to me, I'd find a whole new range of uses for my Festool to use on the B@!#%&D if I catch him.  [mad]

Give her big hugs from her pen pal. His name is Jobs and he goes everywhere with me. This is us chilling out after a good days work  [smile]
