Funny you put that up...
In an earlier time of my life I got really involved in and part of the Geodesic Dome (home) scene, here in Brisbane. There's a sparse few in Brisbane, but one in particular in Forest Lake comes to mind. There are quite a few on Macleay Island here in Moreton Bay and at one time or another I've been in most of them. I had several concept drawings made and had discussions with John Rich in New Zealand and invested quite a significant amount in trying to get one built. In the end, the banks stopped me. I couldn't get finance for what was perceived as "unconventional construction"....
Basically I simply needed to prove I didn't need the money- then they would lend me as much as I wanted....
For anyone curious or indeed interested in a Geodesic Dome- home- church- office, theatre, etc you will find the following website a very, very enjoyable way to whittle away even more than a few hours......
