I have a natural satin finish maple drumset and the time has com to apply som Tung Oil and buff them.  I think the RO 90 would be perfect for this, any thoughts?  Are the accesories available?  I am thinking polishing felts and the polishing pad?  Also, does anyone know if these are scratch resistant pads?

Thanks in advance!

First, yes, the polishing accessories for the RO 90 are available, check with your preferred dealer for availability. You will need the polishing pad to use any of the felts, sponges, etc. The pad is actually 80mm, which is undersized on purpose to prevent accidental damage to the surface. It allows the felt or sponge to wrap over the edges of the pad for protection.

Wood,

Go easy on the tung oil so it doesn't build up under the lugs.  Guess how I know that?

Great suggestion, and one that I thought of.  I completely stripped the drums of all hardware first, make sure everything is wiped clean and then continue with the finish.  Besides this gives me a good opportunity to take care of all the chrome as well.

What would be a better choice, the hard felt or soft felt for my application?

Oops, sorry, didn't see your reply.

The soft would probably be your best option. The soft is better for oils.
