Buffing up a Poly-unrethane finish

Hi,

I just ordered a RO-125, I don't have it yet, and I have already been asked to look at an 80+ year old mahogany table that was painted with orange enamel some time in the '50s. 

I found some good info on abrasives for stripping the paint. It's the finish where I am confused.

Assuming that I take the project on, I intend on using a modern poly-urethane finish.  What would I used to buff this sucker out?  The Titan 2 looks good, as does the Platin 2.  Maybe even a buffing pad.

Any & all advice desired.

What kind of finish are you looking for?  Mirror shiny?  Matt?  Satin?

Shiny.  Glossy.

Philippine Mahogany.  80+ year old table, veneer.  Back in the '50s some poor soul painted it with orange enamel paint.  I will be stripping it, then finishing it.

Some body really did this table wrong.  Really sad.  I think it used to look really nice.

If it is veneer you are stripping, be very gentle with the RO-125. You probably will have to chemically remove the enamel if you want the veneer to still be there.
