I had to make a unit for my shop - I've recorded it below. A lot of things went wrong - due to being in a rush and the damp weather on Dartmoor (in England)! But turned out ok in the end. You may be able spot a little greenery! Please let me know what you think - first video of a build.

Very nice video. I like your style, and clear explanations of what's going on. I've subscribed to your YouTube channel in the hope that there may be more build videos in the future.

Nicely shot video and voice over.
Am I right in thinking the t-slot side of the unit will be used for display items?

Thanks Andy.

Yes, the t-slot cutter allows slatwall inserts to be fitted. Then you can use standard retail brackets for hanging etc - this is the unit full of stuff :):

I thought I was looking of me at first (just thinner).
Being cramped on the floor, and using the same headlamp. (The Black Diamonds are good)

Great video and nice project.

And perfect timing as I am looking at finish for veneer.

Well there's an Earlex in action! Someone was just asking the other day if those things actually sprayed...

Thanks Andy.

Thanks Holmz. Yes cramped - I built that storage shed and kick myself every time I cut an 8x4 sheet that I didn't make it a little bigger!! It's a Fenix head torch - they're very good - but I would say that because I sell them in my shop!! Can recommend the Surfix - hard to recommend to a non-Festolian - but I'm actually looking forward to my next finishing job. Have had good luck spraying lacquer previously though - and much quicker.

Yes Scott - an Earlex HV5000. I've actually found it pretty good - it's me that's the problem! I'll save spraying for warmer temperatures in future though!

[member=7536]festivus[/member] - I may try the Surfix. I was leaning towards the Maloof blend, but  do not think that the allow it to be flown and doesn't seem to be available in Australia.

That head lamp looks like Black Diamond, but they are brilliant for working. And I am sure it is just as good.

I have a 5'x27" folding table for $5. It is only worth 2 GBP, but it works well for cutting sheets because I can clamp to it and and I am more upright, but I still walk like a Neanderthal for a few paces until the back loosens up.

Really enjoyed your video, fantastic that you have the skill to kit out your own shop. Must be really satisfying standing there looking about your stuff knowing that you built it.
Couple of things...Surfix delivered yesterday, yours and a couple of other fog members! I switched over to the Morrells ST1 spray unit and find it excellent. Started off with Earlex, but found it not quick enough. I only put Morrells WB through my gun(s). Can you send me a link for your head torch if you're online etc and deliver, I may just buy one

Weird - didn't get notification of replies ...

[member=40772]Holmz[/member] - As I get older the head torch gets more and more indispensable! Would love a nice work table to cut up sheet good - but that will have to wait to I get my triple garage ;)!

[member=22883]Mahomo59[/member] - Many thanks. I do like making stuff for my shop - and nice if I meet a fellow woodworker I will spend far too long talking woodwork and tools! Let us know how you get on with Surfix. Yes online and deliver - I'll send you a link via PM.
