Hey guys.  I thought I would share the process of me building my  Mom's kitchen cabinets.    I use a couple Festool tools in the videos.   [tongue]

This is part 1 covers breaking down the plywood.

This is part 2 covers routing a dado for the back panel.

And this is part 3 covers locating the domino tenons.

I plan on recording the entire process of building the cabinets.  I may even record the install.

The plan is to get a couple cabinets built, take them to her house store them in the basement until mid March.  She goes on vacation in March for a week so I will go in while she's out.

I'm only working on the cabinets on the weekend because I still need to work my paying job and 50+ hours a week.  So I hope I have enough time to get the cabinets done.  Because I also

have to bust up her tile flooring and install new flooring, do some painting and electrical work.  That will start after Christmas.   I have parts 4,5,6 and 7 loaded on my Youtube channel if you're

interested in watching the other videos.   [big grin]

Just a little FYI.   The cabinets will be traditional cabinets with face frames and raised panel doors.

Take care,
Eric

Here is part 5…..I use the LR32 system in this video.   Part 4 talks about the Kreg jig, I wasn't sure Festool would like a video that covers another tool on the FOG.

Part 6.  This video covers the adjustable legs that I will use.

Part 7.  This video covers the assembly of a base cabinet.

Part 8.  This video covers making the base cabinet face frames.

Part 9.  This video shows me building the corner base cabinet.

Part 10.  This video shows me building the pantry cabinet.

Part 11.  This video shows me building a drawer box.

Part 12.  Making the doors.

Part 13.   I'm sure Festool would not like me to post a video of another companies router table in use…so I won't post this video here.

Part 14.  Using the domino for the doors.

Part 15.  Again, I'm sure Festool wouldn't like to see another companies router table in use….so I won't post this video here

Part 16.  Sanding the raised panels.

Part 17.   Assembling the doors and drawer fronts.

Part 18.  Start of the wall cabinets.

Part 19.  Placing the domino mortise, shelf pin holes and pocket screw holes and assembling a wall cabinet.

Part 20.  Making the face frames for the wall cabinets.

Part 21.  The install.

erock - just remove the "s" from "https"and it works.

This is part 1.

This is part 2.

And this is part 3.

RMW  Thank YOU!!! [not worthy]

I forgot all about the "s".  [embarassed]

Really well done, Eric.  Looks like you redid all your Systainer storage since the last videos, or the collection has multiplied like rabbits!

Thanks for taking the time to do this.  I'm sure you are on a bit of a deadline with the cabinets for your Mom and to take the time to video, explain and edit is a real commitment to sharing.

We are all learning from your experience (and occasional do-overs which are part of the process!)

Eric,
Thank you so much, These couldn't have come at a better time. I'm renovating our kitchen and with the quote I got for cabinets I've been able to buy a few  [wink] tools and still come in under budget.

You're videos are always informative.

thanks again.

Good job, Eric. Parent projects are at times the most rewarding.

Eric,

Thanks for the great videos.  The last part about plunging the incorrect depth is a very common occurrence in my shop and sometimes I just trim the length of the domino instead of plunging another time.

Great job Eric!  Thanks for putting this together.  I love seeing the whole Festool ecosystem at work.  The way you break this down it seems so simple...with a few more acquisitions.  [tongue]

[popcorn]
I'm redoing my kitchen as well BUT I'm gonna build some garage cabs 1st for some practice

ey Eric,

Great video. I use a the same but different method then you do. Dominos on the outside box of the run where people can see and 2 dominos for alignment and screws to secure on te rest of them for speed.

Your demo of the domino was great. It answered quite a few questions I had about setting it up.

As usual great job.

I subscribed to your YT channel after seeing this post! Thank you so much for describing what you did. A big help for newbies like me.
[thanks]

Excellent videos thank you so much!

Can't wait to see more

Kind thoughts-
Christopher

Hey guys,  thanks for the feed back.  I'm glad you're enjoying the videos.

                                            [thanks]

Eric

Great work. I really like how you do the builds.

I do have a question though. Where did you get your blue ruler from?  Makes for easy setup.

Great videos Eric.  I was also wondering about the blue ruler.  It caught my eye.

I wanted to thank you also for your fantastic videos. I am about to start some shop cabinets and the information helped me immensely. Keep up the good wrk.

Really helpful to a novice like me.  I'm about to start on some shop cabinets and then build an MFT cart.  Your timing was perfect.
