Lots of drawers these units are a light gray with dark gray back to go along with their gray walls. Geez gray is the color for sure this year

They look great and are very well done and is no way a criticism of your craftsmanship. I think the purchasers shorted themselves in terms of the design. I realize you make what the customer wants even if it is not what you would have or like. If they want 4 drawers and cabinet doors across the bottom you just do it. I have been in this situation many times and I have not had much luck talking customers down from the cliff. On the upside most people don't care about design and just want to brag about what they have. It's much like kitchen design where in my experience the main talking point is "I have granite countertops" and not the quality or function of the cabinetry.

Some design notes:

The drawers at the bottom look bigger than the cabinet doors even though they appear to be the same size. The squareness of them and close but different sizes between the center and side doors/drawers is close enough to look unplanned. The golden rule could help avoid this.

The upper left and right side not being identical is a little off-putting.

A possible solution is to use full-height cabinet doors at the bottom with a slide out drawer inside the top of the new full height base cabinet. This would balance out the bottom section.

Another is to use all drawers for the bottom section versus a mix. This also balances out the base cabinet.

A third is to use a full-width drawer in the middle combining the two drawers in the middle into one wide drawer and converting the two center doors to a full-width drawer.

Again not a criticism of the craftsmanship. I agree that close to battleship gray is the color of choice now. The darker gray in the back of the cabinet is a definite plus.

I appreciate your comments and yes I agree but this had a designer who sketched what she wanted I tried to make changes but nope !! 
This was designed mainly for storage in their new house

I always admire the work you do. Some great craftsmanship on all of it. Keep up the good work.
And I agree, when the customer has a picture in their mind of what they want it is very hard to change it. So we have to work with what we got and do it to the best of our abilities, and you definitely do that.

Nice execution, but I think you were dealing with a wannabe designer.  One that has no clue about scale and proportion.

Should also be noted that warm greys have been on the scene for three years now, but are just now making it to the masses.
