C-15 + 3 drill battery (potential) issue

Last April I bought a new C-15 drill (4.2 A).  When I first received the drill, I charged both batteries.  One charged exactly as it (seemingly) should, while the other kept blinking red.  I e-mailed Festool and they indicated that it is normal and that it means it doesn't require charging.  I finally used my drill enough to require charging and that same battery is charging for a while and then blinking red.  The other charges and then the light stays green.  Is this normal?  It seems like it takes a charge, but I can't figure out why they're different?

Thanks
Eric

Welcome to the FOG Eric.  What you describe isn't normal from my experience with the five Festool drills I have owned.  You may want to contact Festool again.  A phone call is the most direct and thorough means to get this sorted out quickly.  You can find the phone on any Festool tool.

I had a battery doing that, turns out I just didn't push it on the charger enough. Now I use a bit of force and have no issue

I had a similar issue with the PDC I just bought.  Like Warner, the battery was not seating all the way in the charger.  After seeing similar issues on the FOG I tried again to push the battery in with no success.  Then I got a pen light and took a close look at the charger.  There was some kind of debris (maybe some black plastic shaving) in the recess where the battery seats.  I shaved down a popsicle stick and was able to dislodge it but I don't know where it landed.  At any rate, my charger works fine now.
