c 15 drill burned up in smoke

[sad] my c 15 literally burnt up , changed the battery out to fresh one . Then the surprise of smoke came flaring out .
Has anyone had this issue ? Only had it 7 months and loved it . Yes festool is taking care of it but was curious if anybody had  t he same issue .

Not had that bit of bad luck luck. Nice that Festool is taking care of you. Please feel free to post how it works out for you. I once had an old car catch fire when I primed the carb with a beer can full of gas. I didn't think to ask GM to stand behind it cuzz it only had 180,000 miles on it.  [poke]

Great job festool getting my drill repaired and back quickly.
Have not tried it yet but they said it was electronic issue and replaced the inside guts out with new handle .
Was surprised they did that and not just replaced the whole drill bbut I trust they know what they are doing .
