Can someone enlighten me as to the advantages of one versus the other?  ???

I prefer the balance of the T model, but each to his, and for a T model, it's very short, also in real life using it.
There may be situatione, where the C.handle may be in the way of drilling, screwing etc. Again I prefer the T.
Else the new C15 have a built in light, and the usual vertical magnetholder for bits, drills etc, where as the T15 have a seperate lamp which you can turn on and off (from both left and right) as you please. It can also be att. to a headband. So the T does use a tiny bit less power, unless the electronics is changed, to be even more power saving. Don't know.
The C15 is a tiny bit weaker in Nm in comparison to the T15.
The C15 I think have a beltclip, anyway the new T18 will also.
As the C15 have this clip, and you can use the batteries for the new Carvex, you may then have a portable jigsaw with a beltclip, ha ha  [big grin]
The T15 comes in a very nice systainer with a room in the lid. Not in all markets, I'm afraid, as mine didn't...  [mad] [mad] [mad]
I'm sure some of the more informed people here, may widen this and/or confirm the above.

Just my twopence.
Jacques.

Like Jacques said.  Mainly... the shape, the C15 has an integrated light and belt clip on the battery.  One other notable difference for you, the C15 is not available in the U.S. yet.  Look for it later this year.

The new C models aren't out yet in the States so I can't comment from any hands on experience.  However, the T and C models are nearly identical in specs as far as length and torque.  As Redfox mentioned the new C models have a built in light and belt clip.  I see these as very nice features but not enough to influence my preference between a T or C style drill.  The C style drills are held like a traditional corded drill with your hand more in-line with drive shaft of the drill.  Where the T style drill your hand is lower down on the drill.  In theory, the C style drill takes better advantage of the force your arm/hand applies to the drill with it being in line with the drill.

I believe the batteries from both drill styles will work with the new cordless jigsaws.

Yeah Shane, we have this thing called the internet , it allows us to see things from across the Atlantic.  Pretty cool isn't it. [tongue]

Not to put any hot or sour spices in the beer, but my local dealer just told me, that the C model is delayed here in Denmark, as there have been reports of unreliable electronics and maybe also on other new tools, due to a subsupplier. Nothing else than that. Wheter it's true or not, I shall not make comments about. But let's see. Maybe someone here can confirm this, as e.g. the T18+3 should be out tomorrow here in Denmark, but they didn't recieve any as of yet. Else maybe someone can kill this  (dealer) story. I repeat, it's not a confirmed story, only a story from my local dealer.
I just hope that my new TS55EBQ I bought today will last, please  [scared]

On a secondary note, I find the detachable lamp on the T drill smart, as it is a choice, not obligatory. Anyway the torque on the T is very little felt in your hand/arm, and possibly also for the C model.

Cheers,
Jacques.

I don't know if there is a problem with the electronics themselves.  I believe the issue is a shortage of these components due to a high demand from another well know electronics company.

Brice has it right. Some of the electronics we use are in short supply. This has caused delays in manufacturing.

Thanks for clearing it up. AND I'll notify my local dealer 9 a.m. sharp when he opens, (to get some guide rail stops)  [big grin]
Meanwhile I'll go berserk on a nice 38mm tabletop with my new saw  [tongue]

Cheers,
Jacques.

Any hint on what quarter of this year?  I was planning to purchase the T15 in July, but I prefer the C style.  I might be willing to wait . . .

Not in the next couple of months.  Other than that, I don't have a definitive ETA.

The light on the T15 is pretty rubbish really. If you can be bothered to keeping taking it on and off be my guest but it only works with the Centronic bit so if you wanted to use the angle or offset chuck you have to remove the light. I bought the T15 when if first came out so I still got the old style layout so their is no where you can put the torch with out making it awkward to close the lid. Also the batteries dont last that long and you often forget to turn it of so you run the battery  down quicker. You have two buttons one on either side which I often press when placing the drill down with out knowing and end up with a dead battery. Its only good for using on your head but I already own a head torch which is 10 times brighter and batterie last much longer so I never use mine. I actually dont know where it is any more.

True, it have it's limited use, but I find it handy, and use it (with the centrotec bit).
There is definately better lamps for head band use, sure!
Anyway I can get batteries for it nearly all over the planet.

Cheers,
Jacques  ;)
