C12 3.0 Ah combo pack vs C12 1.3 Ah Set

I'm considering a C12 pack (includes the offset and right angle chucks)...

I find an extra battery for cordless tools to be a handy thing to have.  For some reason, a C12 1.3 + a 3.0 NiMH prices out better than a C12 3.0 + a 1.3 niCad.  Am I missing something ?  The only difference appears to be the battery and separate batteries are not priced as disparately as the different drill + battery configurations.

Is the FastFix Depth stop chuck a must have ?

Prices are always better in a pack. Festool sell the drills with 2 batteries and a charger, and also in a set with the two accessory chucks. Placing a different battery in the set is not how they are offered.
As for the Fast Fix Depth Stop Chuck, yep a good accessory if the applications fit for you. It's accurate, fast and simple. Check Dan's review.

Thanks Bob.  Just noticed the "2" in front of the battery size which resolves any advantageous pricing.  I was missing something!

Any comments on the 2.4 vs the 3.0 ?

It seems most customers are all over the place on this one, Some like the 1.3's because they are less expensive, lighter by about 6 oz. and charge in 25 minutes, while the 2.4's take 50 minutes to charge and tye 3.0's take 70 minutes to charge. Some people prefer the lightness and price of the 1.3's, while others feel that the almost double battery run time  and 6 oz is worth spending another $20.00. Pretty much the san=me for the 3.0 NiMh.
