C12 drill is gone. Replacements that can use C12's "fastlock" chucks?

Hello,
My beloved C12 drill is gone.  [eek]  I still have the quick change "Centroluc" spindle adapter and all three "fastloc" chucks (Jacobs, right-angle, and eccentric) as well as some batteries that fit it including a pair of aftermarket NiMH ones.  What I'm missing is the C12 itself.  There is now a pretty bewildering array of drills available, and at least some of them won't accept the C12's chucks. Also the battery connection form has changed on certain drills, and of course there's been a move to lithium. 

I don't recall my C12 ever failing to complete a job.  Furthermore, I may be a wimp, but that sucker had enough torque to rip my arm off.  And it was small and light.  I don't really know how it could be much improved on, but I'd love to be shown! 

What drill do you recommend for someone that was quite satisfied with a C12, and would like the chucks and batteries to work on the new drill if possible?

For the compatibility with the chucks you can chose between the c18 and T18, so if you liked the ergonomics of the C12, it looks like the c18 would be a good fit for you. (the cxs/txs and the pdc are not compatible with the chucks)

This won't answer your question, but why not look for another one?  I have a CXS and a C12.  I love the torque and smoothness of the C12 and if I lost it, I'd prob look for another used one.  I just bought an aftermarket battery on Amazon for only $27, so should be good to go for awhile.  The C12 attachments make it a very versatile tool.  I even added a small stick-on LED I found at Lowes to it so I can see better sometimes.

As mentioned, the chucks are interchangeable with the C18 and T18 drills. You can buy a basic set that does not include the chucks and save some money as it would have the drill, batteries and charger.

      In addition to what has been said. You will find that the C/T18 will be lighter than the NiCd C12. And there is a compact battery available for the C/T18.  270790

Thank you everyone for your excellent suggestions.  I think I'm going to take FigNewton's advice and start checking ebay regularly for a stand-alone C12 body.  It is one of the few tools I own that I literally cannot think of a significant improvement for.

  Also the LiOn C / T  drills can use the NiCd / NiMh batteries. So A newer C12 (or 15 or 18)  would still make use of your existing batteries.
