C15 and TI15 Basic

I understand that the TI15 Basic comes with a systainer that can be used to store it along with another Festool drill (C15, T15 etc.).  This seems like a good idea - it saves money if you want two drills and stores the two items together neatly.

Recently, Festool have updated the charger for the C15 to a TCL 3 charger.  Does anyone know whether the new charger that comes with the 2013 C15 fits into the TI15 Basic systainer?

The T15 and C15 both fit the TI15 Basic systainer.
I think that the new charger will also fit the systainer, but I'm not sure.

looking at those pics I think there's a problem, I'm fairly certain the new charger is taller ... hope I'm wrong though!

What's different about the new charger other than possibly the size? I just ordered a T15 +3 Set and a Ti15 Basic and I see the current FC3 Charger online for both the C15 and T15, is there an upgraded charger coming out?

There is a new charger but who knows when it will make its way here to N. America.  As far as I know the only new part is a cord wrap built in.  If you need the drills now I wouldn't wait.

I agree. As long as I get the current charger for the T15/Ti15 and it fits in the combo sys 3 then I am good. I ordered a third battery to go with the combo set as well.

One question I had that maybe should go on a differrent thread is who would have the best selection and availability of Festool in general? I'm here in Denver and we have Woodcraft and Rockler close by. I've been happy with the guys at Woodcraft but they have pretty much had to order everything since it was not in stock. I had to exchange my Kapex soon after I bought it due to an issue with the motor slowing down and binding, and apparently it is on backorder from Germany - no ship date yet and was in the middle of completing a deck restoration. My T15 and Ti15 have to be ordered as well and I'm not sure how long they will take. Is this typical? It's hard to knock out projects if I need to plan for several weeks of ordering things.

The current charger fits in the Ti15 basic Systainer so you don't need to worry about that.

As for dealers, I understand wanting to support local brick and mortar stores.  However, very few carry a good stock of Festool gear so only buy online.  We have some great dealers that participate here so I give them my business.  There is a good chance you'll get tools shipped to your door in a few days if you decide to give one of these guys a shot of earning your business.

I think I have the new charger. Got it when I purchased my PSC420 Jigsaw from my dealer in Germany. (They were able to get the 110V charger version).  I noticed that the part number was different from the units currently being sold in the U.S., so I am assuming it is the new one. Worked perfectly on a transformer in our house in Germany.
I'd post more, but it is in Germany at the moment, and I'm at work in Nigeria. I think I posted the part number in another topic here on FOG. (I think it was one of the Carvex topics)

Can't say if it is larger, smaller, or what new features it has vs the current U.S. model, but it IS a different part number, and is rated to run both 50hz and 60hz, so no issues with using a 220 to 110 step down transformer in Germany @ 50hz
