C18 is trigger meant to do this?

Ok so I bought a brand new to me C18 from a a guy who used it once and didn’t like the size. It’s been great but the trigger seems to do something I’m not sure is correct or maybe it is.

Depending where I pull the trigger I get 3 different electronically controlled speeds.
Top - fast
Middle - medium
Bottom - Slow

Now this is actually an awesome idea or this things faulty in some way but either way I’m
Curious. If it is not meant to do this I guess it’s going back to Festool for repair.

I’m afraid it shouldn’t be like that. I have loads of festool drill including a c18 from this year. The 3 speed situation you describe is not correct.

Have you checked whether you have accidentally knocked the forward/reverse slightly?
I’ve noticed on mine that with the F/R switch somewhere in the middle position I get different speeds in where I touch the trigger button, it’s not completely dead/locked.
And this again depends on the clutch input in screwdriver mode, not drilling mode - because this dial dictates the drills max speed. At the lightest setting it’s slow max speed, and at the hardest setting max speed is similar to drilling mode.
