That's ok Grass sucks anyway! [laughing]tjbnwi said:If appears you cannot drill the 2.5 mm holes with the Sommerfiled or Blum jig, only 8 mm mounting holes. The Sommerfield will not drill for the 11 mm x 45 mm Grass hinges either. I would not expect the Blum to drill for the Grass, other brands should be able to.

It sucks more when you end up with it unexpectedly.
I want to know what the guy who started this all ended up doing???

Not all the hinges have the same centerline distance from edge of door. Your drill press fence needs to be adjustable.
The jig eliminates 3 steps and 3 motions.
1) square hinge to door edge
2) drill hole "A", while trying to hold hinge square to edge
3) drill hole "B", while trying to hold hinge square to edge
The drill press is why I feel the CMT jig is superior to the others available, can be used it on a drill press or "free hand". The fence is also easy to adjust.

A little dramatic but if you need justification a $200+ tool....
Who has a non-adjustable drill press fence? I set the fence in seconds using a drill bit as a gauge for the offset distance from a forstner bit. Unless you are using different hinges for different parts of a project, that needs to be done once. I then mark the distance from top and bottom on one door with a square and use that to set left and right stops. Maybe another 30s and then that's done for all doors using that top/bottom distance. The hinges usually are a fairly snug fit in the 1-3/8 hole and set square in 1s with a small square. And the system is adjustable to anybody's hinge. The project I'm doing right now has 8 doors and I bet I spent < 10 minutes drilling the 35mm holes. Installing hinges once the doors are finished, including drilling the pilot holes will take about that.
If you want to buy a $200+ tool to install hinges, buy a CXS.
