So the Boss wants to re-do the cabinets(wife).
My question is:
What primer/paint? I want to stay with a water base if possible .
What spray tip should I use? I have a Graco x7
And what setting should the sprayer be set at? High, low,or med?

The wife wants a grey-ish tone and I want to save money not paying someone else.

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

I'm far from an expert on painting and finishing, but I am in the midst of building some cabinets.

I have had terrific results with General Finishes milk paint.  I can't speak to your spray equipment as I use a 4 stage turbine sprayer.  A 1.8mm needle works well for this.  You can thin it with a little water.  And it cleans up easily with soap and water.

I also use ziner BIN shellac based primer.  Unfortunately it cleans up with denatured alcohol.  I use a 1.5mm needle for that because it is pretty thin.

There are others here with much more experience painting and finishing than I.  But the General finishes line is worth a look.

Clean well with Krud Kutter.

Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond Primer.

SW Emerald Urethane.
