I have had lots of experience with Auto CAD software on a PC.
Can anyone advise what is good CAD software for an iMAC and a MAC book PRO.

I use AutoCAD a lot for work (Windows based). I downloaded AutoCAD 2012 for my MacBook Pro and so far I'm really impressed. They have an LT version available for Mac as well. If all you need is 2D it's great, and quite a bit less money.  I've tried TurboCad and one other (the name eludes me). I found it difficult/time consuming to learn each interface, as they differ quite a bit from AutoCAD.

Thanks Kris
I will look into using auto cad on my mac, I was trained as a 3d solid modeller, so would like to use I to it's full potential.

Autodesk have a few interesting iPad apps in the AppStore too - for CAD on the field.

Rhinoceros is working on a Mac version.  You can download the work-in-progress program from their site for free, but as they make new editions, you'll need to go back and download the latest.
