Can 5 Mini T-Loc Systainers fit into Systainer 3 T-Loc?

I would like to have the 5 minis in the Systainer 3 setup as shown below, but using the festool t-loc containers.

Can anyone confirm if you can fit five of the new mini t-loc systainers (499622), on end, into an empty Systainer 3 (497565)?

If not I'll just get the older style from LeeValley but I would much prefer the t-loc and green festool versions.

First, welcome to the FOG!

I asked one of the dealers to check on this just a week or so ago and the answer is unfortunately No.  Here is a diagram of how you can do four.  I believe that the odd one is actually on its end.

Welcome to the forum, Brian.  [smile]

That's too bad five won't fit  anymore.

Hi Brian and welcome

By the looks on the Tanos pic it's actually 6 mini's in a Sys3. The way they stack them inside it should work to fit 6. The height of 3 mini's stacked is less then a Sys3.
Maybe someone got atleast 3 mini's, a Sys3 and a measure-tape.  [smile]
Unfortunately I only got classic mini's. Or am I wrong/blind?

In that 90-degree configuration, you can get 4 in a SYS 3 And 6 in a SYS 4.

Ok, so from what I'm reading and my own understanding. The new festool t-loc mini's will not fit as shown in the first pic I posted. My goal for these minis is to keep my jigsaw blades and other small items in those and have them stack just like in the first pic from leevalley. That way I can open the sys3 and see exactly which mini's I have and the labels will tell me what is inside each one.

I would probably break it down like: jigsaw blades, various bits, measuring (caliper, woodpecker square)

I doubt I will have many drill or router bits that can sit vertical but I do have some that are expensive and would justify the time and expense to keep only a few of them flat inside a foam insert.

[Edit] Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I got a CSX drill about 4 months ago and I'm working on my Festool wishlist. Last weekend I got a SysLite and it is awesome too.

The T-Loc minis will fit in a SYS 3 in the orientation shown in the OP's picture.  But only 4 across, not 5 across as shown with the old style systainers.

Due to the conflicting posts in this thread I snapped this photo for you yesterday, showing how 4 Minis would fit into a SYS 3 in the orientation you are talking about. I only have 2 Minis, but you can see how they take up less than half of the SYS 3.

darn it - I just went to close that SYS 3 and put it away when I realised that the lid will not close with the Minis in that orientation. . . .

It will close however with them in the orientation shown in Peter's Post (2nd post in this thread)

New pic attached.

Although I only have the 2 Minis, my experiments can confirm that the lid will definitely close with 4 Minis in this orientation.

Sorry for my initial error.

Cool. thanks for the followup. They seem to be out of "minis" for the moment. However holiday season is upon us and I'm sure there will be many many tools and minis to buy :-)

I can fit 10 mini systainers in a systainer 3....but you need an extra tool....sledghammer! [scared] [eek]

With that approach you could probably fit a Sys3 in a Mini  [big grin]  [poke]

Yeah, that reinforcement under the lid front edge can really get in the way of some things.  I have run into that with a couple other things I have tried.

By the way, that diagram of how to fit mini systainers came from our good friends at Lee Valley Tools.  Rob had his technical guys try it out for me.

Thanks Rob!

Exactly right.
