Can I see your Senco PC1010 in a systainer please? sys4? sys5?

Have bought a Senco PC1010 and in the process of working it into a systainer. I have a sys4 on hand and it doesn't fit - I have read that users cut the handle off to make it fit. I want to put a coil hose and at least one air nailer in there. Would it be better to go with a sys5?

I take mine out of a sys V for use.  I remove the front feet and the compressor fits in on it's side. I also traded the lid for an attic lid to store my accessories.  No pics, sorry.  I used mine like this ever since the 10101 came out.

Did you see the thread that's down a couple spaces that guy did a decent job 😉

I admire all the guys that modify their 1010s to function in their sys', I just can't justify the time required for the mods, as the couple seconds that it takes me to remove and reattach the feet is negligible and I do not use mine on a daily basis.

No can't see that one?

I went a more rough and ready road anyway as I had to get this fitted into my growing stack of site systainers.
-cut off handles
-cut 16mm section out of the middle of the frame.
-shoved a 19mm dowel between the tubes to check it all fitted properly into the sys4
-took it to a local guy to weld for £10.
Need to notch out some places for the hose and power, but it works great already, it just tilts in and out with the feet still attached.
Quite addictive all this sorting of tools into systainers ...[blink]

I started out like that and eventually found myself with some time on my hands and the idea to put it on the side, mostly because it fit there best .....

My version of a `quick and dirty` SYS-air.

The first pic is just the unit with the lid open showing guns & hose. Usually there is a bottle of glue in there as well.

Second pic is a more unobstructed view. It also shows the `divit` where the hose and the power cord lead out with the ability to close the lid. That divit was due to a mishap on the jobsite which later proved to be fortunate.

The third pic shows the modification to the compressor to allow it to sit on its 4 feet. The modification was to remove about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of tubing from the frame. I can't remember for sure, but I think I also turned the motor 180 laterally on it's mounts so the starter capacitor would clear the tank. Unmodified is still fit in the systainer, but rather sloppily and as a result made the unit made a ton of noise.

This is just a 1 gallon Senco compressor i picked up at the cheapo-depot as my prior systainer version had blown it's reeds with replacements no longer available.

For those wondering:
Yes, I can and generally do, run this with the lid closed. Helps keep the crud out of the box and makes it quieter. It has only popped the thermal one time. My guy was running speed base on a 90 degree day with the lid closed. Nothing but nailing, everything had been pre-cut and dry fitted already. in a systainer or out of one, this little compressor was never intended to run a 15 gauge gun at that production level as it only 30% duty cycle if I remember correctly. He thought he burned it up but it was just the thermal breaker. He admitted that the unit hd not been keeping up with him. And yes, I/we have more appropriate compressors for that.

With hose on Tanos straps.

I just drilled holes in the side of the five for hoses and power. It’s good to have it all on a roll. What’s missing from the pic is one of the Tanos Systainer seat tops. It sits inside the five and provides great noise reduction.

Sys 4 with a few extras from CT SYS parts sourced from EKAT, it works exceptionally well to organize both the air line and cord.
The lid required some serious modification to make it work.

The hose garage for the CT SYS works exceptionally well for extension cords as well..

That's very cool. Wouldn't it have been simpler though, to use a standard lid and just cut a hole to line up with the hole in the bottom of the hose garage? Are there benefits to using the CT-SYS lid, other than the pre-made hole?

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

I'd love to see some more pictures of this showing inside , top view etc.

Seth

Thanks for the welcome.
I chose to modify the CT SYS lid for a few reasons, it has a port on the side to allow the power cord to run up from inside the sys 4, the hole matching the hose garage for the air hose as well as a vent in the rear of the lid to allow airflow.

I did not have the courage to saw the frame of the AC0001 little compressor, so I build plates above and below to match the size of the M337 Sys3.
Thanks for the idea of using the CT SYS hose garage for the air hose and power cord. The big handle is also welcome.
