Can I use biodegradable rapeseed oil in my sword saw?

As above or do I have to buy the Festool oil at £15 a litre or can I use something like biofair at £30 for 5L which is available locally. I am aware it has a 2 year shelf life but now I have the saw its providing more work with a local landscaper cutting 10X4 landscaping timbers

I don't know about "rapeseed" oil, but I just use chainsaw oil. Same stuff I use in my Stihl chainsaws.

To be honest, I never though about it.

I do not own a Sward Saw, but often use a chainsaw. If you are looking for biodegradable chain lubricant and available in 1, 5 and 20 litres, have a look at -

Thanks. Bio Plus is available here for £30 for 5L at my local garden machinery place. I was more worried about its suitability. The oil supplied with the saw is biodegradable and seems very thin. I seem to remember chainsaw oil as thick and sticky but at my age that's not 100% reliable  [big grin]
