my Kapex (early 2007) made a squeeky noise and the blade did not get enough torque to cut in the wood .

now i am not able to remove the sawblade , its not possible to lock it whit the fastfix .the engine is locked ,but the blade is spinning .
it dosent help holding the sawblade still by hand either because the center is spinning anyway

i have searched posts here whit kapex problems ,but could not find one whit similar problem .

i hope someone has a clue 👍

live in Sweden so my writing english is not perhaps perfect

Welcome to the FOG [member=44333]J.marcus dc[/member]  .  Sorry to see you coming here with a first post about an issue.

Just to make sure we understand your problem here is what I get out of your post:

You can engage the fast fix but when you try to loosen the blade mounting bolt it doesn't loosen but rather the whole arbor just rotates.

Is that correct?

Peter

thank you Pete 😊

yes , but its also my first real problem i have encounterd whit my tools for many years 😉

correct understood 👍 , it's like an axel or gears is broken

When you turn the fastfix on the Kapex clockwise (to locked) the knob will visibly spring out at the locked position (it'll visibly come out of the case), after that the blade can still turn some teeth till the lock eventually clicks in.

thanks , but i have found the problem and thougth i share it ,if someone else will have the same issue

its the gear on the armature thats been worn out , it's a bit tricky to dissmantle the saw ,but not impossible 👍

Could you share some insights about what use the saw saw to get into this condition?

as i wrote in my 1:st post , the saw is an early one
and has been used for 10 years both hard and soft wood
,but when i use the saw in long pieces that arent 100% straight the saw can get stuck , i think that migth be what caused the damage after so many years .

its by the way the 1:st real problem i have had whit it.
