Can regular laminate be used in Conturo.

Can regular laminate be used in Conturo I've only used PVC edge banding.  If I buy Laminate sheet then rip it down to 20mm etc can that be used in Conturo for edge banding to match laminate face etc.

Doubtful.  Laminate sticks with contact cement.  The only reason PVC banding sticks to anything with the hot glue in a glue pot bander is because it has a primer on the back.  That's why the stuff only has a shelf life of 1-2 years.  It's not the banding that degrades, it's the primer.

I don't have a Conturo but I have looked into edgebanding quite a bit.

So if you are laminating a cabinet you use the contact cement for faces and edges as well then trim with router?

Yeah.  Apply cement to both surfaces, wait a few minutes and then put in on.  Use a pressure roller or something similar to press it down hard.  Trim with a laminate trimmer, MFK or whatever and then refine the edge with a laminate file.  Learn how to "draw file" if you've never done it.
