I'm going to be able to get one of these pig tails through a friend

I'm not god on voltage or anything else, can some one please help me out and tell me which is the correct one to get for tools in North America,

I assume you are trying to add Plug-It compatibility to other non-Festool tools.  I believe the part you're after is this one, Festool plug it conversion-kit UBS-PUR 420 plug it GB 110 V.  It would be best to let someone that has done this conversion to confirm that this part is right.

There was a recent thread along the same lines.

The voltage is good, the thing I would clarify is if the actual plug mates with your US plug it cord - if that makes sense.

The two Plug-It adaptors to consider are:

491144 - 360mm
491145 - 420mm

They are identical except for the length.

They connect perfectly to the 16 ga (Heavy Duty) US cord. They will not connect to the 18 ga. (Lighter) US cord without modification of the cord, which - of course - is not recommended nor condoned.

I have both Plug-Its and both cords if you need me to check something else or take pictures?
