Can the KHC 18 replace an air chisel?

I have a sudden need for an air chisel for automotive things but was already considering getting the KHC for renovation work and wondering if I might just get it sooner. Does the KHC have the same capabilities as an air hammer?

Go with the air chisel, the difference in size and weight makes the air chisel the proper choice.  (I own both, my guess is the Snap On air chisel I have is from 1973 or 1974)

And, the Air Chisel can be fitted with a fairly amazing amount of bits to get into tight spots.
I have several long chisels, they all seem to stop at 18" long no matter who's making them, and are invaluable for reach when the standard or short chisels just won't cut it.

Pin style punches are great for 'walking' a stuck bolt or rivet out of a binding assembly- think rusted bolt, but not seized totally, just enough rust to make removal difficult.
And, if you even do Front End work on one of your vehicles, you'll be thrilled at popping tie-rods or ball joints apart with Pickle Fork style bits.

A big +1  [cool]

When using a pickle fork with a hammer, you miss the POP of the disconnection.

That's ok, if you are replacing the joints, or tie-rod ends. However, if they are just being disconnected for other reasons, and will get re-connected, it's not so great.
Pickle forks generally destroy the boots during the procedure.

. Very true- I didn’t want to overwhelm the OP…
